GENEX is hiring a Member Engagement Intern. This internship is focused on connecting with and supporting GENEX member-owners across the U.S. You’ll help strengthen relationships with dairy and beef producers, share the cooperative story, and enhance the overall member experience. The role blends membership outreach, communications, and producer engagement - giving you the opportunity to learn how a cooperative truly operates from the inside out. You’ll play a hands-on role in projects that deepen member involvement and ensure their voices are represented within GENEX.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Lead 3-4 member-focused projects throughout the summer designed to bring additional value to GENEX member-owners
  • Support the creation of cooperative education materials and tools that promote the cooperative advantage and deepen understanding of membership value
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including marketing, sales, and data - to align member engagement strategies with broader goals
  • Explore new ways to expand awareness of GENEX membership benefits among dairy and beef producers across the U.S.
  • Provide innovative ideas to engage the next generation of members through digital outreach, event experiences, and young producer programs
  • Connect directly with dairy and beef producers to listen, learn, and gather on-farm insights that reflect member needs and expectations
  • Visit member farms to capture authentic stories and testimonials that highlight the value of cooperative membership and can be shared through digital or in-person channels
  • Represent GENEX at member meetings, local events, and in collaboration with the sales team to build relationships, strengthen cooperative connections, and ensure alignment between member and field engagement efforts

Qualifications:

  • Dairy or beef background with an eagerness to learn more about cooperatives
  • Actively pursuing a degree in agriculture, agribusiness, communications, or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to confidently engage and build relationships with dairy and beef producers
  • Self-motivated and dependable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Interest in communications and storytelling, with the ability to contribute content for newsletters, social media, and member features
  • Enthusiastic about learning and developing both personally and professionally in a cooperative, member-focused environment
