How you will make contributions that matter

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is wanting to start their career as a Fitting & Turning / Maintenance tradesperson at our Specialty Cheese facility in Burnie, Tasmania.

We are seeking a motivated, committed and reliable person who is wanting to gain practical on the job experience, whilst receiving extensive training and a Certificate III Engineering-Mechanical Trade. Your Responsibilities will include:

• Proactive, preventative, and reactive maintenance to achieve optimal operational requirements whilst maintaining safe work practices.

• Small plant and machine upgrades.

• Mechanical machining & fitting.

• Welding – including TIG for stainless steel.

• Maintain a clean workplace.

• Working through mandatory and elective units to achieve Certificate III Engineering-Mechanical Trade.

About you

• Higher School Certificate (minimum) or other relevant qualification, with an aptitude for technical/mechanical work.

• Practical trade skills and/or relevant pre-apprenticeship.

• Someone who is a team player, trustworthy and has a good work ethic.

• A quick learner with good computer skills.

• Strong ongoing commitment to workplace health & safety.
