About the Role
As a Manufacturing Test Engineering Intern, you will help design, develop, and maintain test systems that ensure Dexterity’s robotic products meet the highest manufacturing and quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing eng., hardware design, controls, and quality, to improve test coverage, optimize workflows, and support scaling our production operations. This role offers hands-on experience with robotics hardware, electronics testing, data acquisition, and system validation in a fast-paced, real-world manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and validation of automated and manual test systems for robotic product systems and subsystems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of hardware and software tools for production testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures and collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to drive corrective actions.
  • Help document test procedures, configuration, and calibration steps.
  • Support deployment and troubleshooting of test stations on the production floor.
  • Help train CM personnel on performing system level testing, and operating automated testers on the production floor.
  • Collect, analyze, and report test data to track manufacturing performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Understanding of electronics fundamentals, test instrumentation equipment, and debugging practices.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Function Block Diagrams, etc.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, sensors, or embedded systems testing.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical hardware bring-up, fixture design, or test automation is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
