Job Description:
Your mission will consist in designing a PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier) in 55nm 5V technology - a key feature for our analog IPs. The PGA is integral to the acquisition chain in MCUs, amplifying input signals before ADC conversion with low noise and offset. Your design will be optimized for area, power consumption, offset, and noise.
What are the different phases of the internship ?
Introduction :
- Get familiar with the gm/Id methodology using Matlab
- Study PGA architecture
Model Development :
- Develop a Matlab model for the 55nm 5V technology.
Component Sizing :
- Size components (transistors, capacitors, resistors) by using Matlab
- Optimize biasing circuitry, 2-stage class AB op-amp, and resistive ladder feedback
Design Implementation :
- Design the PGA on Cadence
- Simulate and compare results with the Matlab models
- Test PGA in various configurations
Benchmarking :
- Compare our existing PGA with the new one.
Presentation :
- Present the Matlab methodology and new PGA to the team.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
- 3rd cycle technical education in electronics and embedded software development
Competencies
- CMOS Analog Design
- Electronic components used in analog design (MOSFET, resistors, capacitors)
- EDA tools, especially Cadence
- Electrical Simulation (SPICE, Spectre)
- Scripting : Python and Matlab
- Basics of Verilog-A
- Windows / Unix
- Microsoft Office
- English (written/spoken – B1/B2 Level)
