Job Description

The Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG) consists of the operations to produce, acquire, market and distribute filmed entertainment worldwide in various media formats for theatrical, home entertainment, television and other distribution platforms.  The division operates globally with colleagues spread across 20 countries. Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

  • Audience Analysis & Research – intern will help support NBCU’s television distribution business with audience based quantitative reporting, insight and strategic analysis in key international territories across all television platforms, including both linear TV channels and global SVOD platforms
  • Brand Marketing: intern will support team with global oversight of all brand components for franchise/event film launches, leading implementation of worldwide brand strategy and collaborate with divisions to optimize brands and business goals
  • Creative Advertising: intern will support the team that produces campaign materials such as trailers, tv spots, and keyart from development to execution for various movies for global use
  • Digital Marketing – intern will support team on social activations across Focus Features brand channels and individual film titles, social research, content creation, in-app engagement tactics (ie. Follow accounts/like posts from talent), social editorial calendaring, live social coverage at events
  • In-Theater Marketing: intern will have exposure to the inner workings of individual media channels (linear & streaming), Digital, and how we create our content from start to finish
  • Media/Integrated Marketing: intern will have exposure to the inner workings of individual media channels (linear and streaming TV), digital (video, display, social, programmatic) and integrated marketing, as well as how they combine to create a successful campaign
  • Multicultural Marketing: intern will create campaigns specifically for Black, Hispanic and Asian American audiences, building off of the general strategy for the film but also adding specific cultural nuances to resonate with audiences
  • Partnerships & Promotions: intern will support this group that is comprised of two teams (sales and creative execution with a designated focus on international and domestic territories) with the shared objective of developing and delivering third party branded campaigns for our theatrical releases
  • Publicity: intern will help with preparing for press junkets, researching media outlets & contacts, and compiling coverage reports  

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. Spring 2026 graduates are not eligible for our Summer 2026 internship program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 40 hours per week from June 1 – August 7, 2026.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.

  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines.

The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.
