In Person

From target to the clinic, AbCellera’s platform integrates biology, computation, and engineering to develop impactful antibody-based medicines. We’re scientists, engineers, and business professionals who work together to turn scientific insights into breakthrough medicines. We pursue truth and scientific rigor. We think independently, act with conviction, and have the courage to work at the edge of the unknown. We offer the opportunity to stretch and explore, and to work on things that matter.

We are looking for a motivated and talented individual currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences field to join our Pharmacokinetics (PK) team as a co-op student or intern for an 8-month term, starting in May 2026. This lab-based position provides a valuable opportunity to advance your technical proficiencies and contribute to the enhancement of AbCellera’s bioanalytical capabilities. Your work will directly support the identification of lead antibody candidates and their subsequent progression into clinical development.

While in this position, based in beautiful Vancouver, you will receive guidance and supervision from experienced team members within the PK team. The internship is designed to offer exposure to real-world projects and the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of antibody-based medicines from target to clinic within Canada.

How you might spend your days

  • Implementing bioanalytical methods, including the design, optimization, and qualification of methods for measuring drug concentrations (PK) and anti-drug antibodies (ADA)
  • Using precise laboratory techniques to test and analyze biological samples to generate critical pharmacokinetic data using ELISA or MSD platforms
  • Playing a key role in developing or optimizing semi- or fully automated workflows online, directly supporting the progression of potential therapies and enhancing team capabilities
  • Understanding data generation and integrity, accurately analyzing samples to quantify drug exposure and immune response, ensuring the reliability of discovery data
  • Maintaining lab excellence by actively managing and maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment for the PK team
  • Providing essential bioanalytical data that helps the team oversee and interpret the fate of potential drug candidates

We'd love to hear from you if

  • You are excited about the opportunity to learn and apply new lab techniques in a drug discovery setting
  • You are enrolled in a BSc program in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a relevant Life Sciences field and have completed at least 2 semesters
  • You continue to be inspired by working with teammates and partners to bring innovative medicines to patients, and are known for your attention to detail, timelines and creative thinking
  • You have proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team
  • You enjoy a fast-paced work environment and are a creative problem solver who believes in teamwork to tackle the most challenging problems

What we offer

AbCellera’s hiring range for this role is CAD $3,300 - $3,700 per month, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base pay, we offer a number of ways to support AbCellerites in maximizing their work-life synergy. You will have a vacation allowance as well as additional days off as part of our company-wide office closures (a real value to all!), and sick leave time while on your internship. Scientific and technical mentorship is a priority. And you’ll find we prioritize teams and social groups to build community and connections across AbCellera.
