Get a front-row seat to the world of B2B technology sales! As a Business Development Intern for our Mid-Market sales organization, you will be an essential part of the team driving our growth. This is a hands-on learning opportunity to support the full cycle of modern sales, from identifying potential customers to helping set the stage for productive meetings with our sales team.

Your mission is to learn the fundamentals of the Business Development Representative (BDR) role by supporting our team in identifying, engaging, and qualifying potential leads. This internship is designed to provide you with the foundational skills, mentorship, and experience necessary to launch a successful career in sales.


Responsibilities

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

As an intern, you will learn from and support our BDR team with a focus on developing core sales skills.

  • Prospect Research and List Building:

    • Assist in conducting research to identify high-potential Mid-Market clients who could benefit from our AI-driven Intuit Platform.

    • Learn to use tools like Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Zoom Info, industry databases, and online research to find new opportunities and key contacts.

  • Sales Engagement Support:

    • Support the BDR team in executing targeted outbound prospecting campaigns.

    • Learn to draft personalized email templates and assist with outreach efforts.

    • Shadow BDRs on prospecting calls to understand how to engage decision-makers effectively.

  • Lead Qualification and Needs Discovery:

    • Sit in on discovery calls to learn active listening skills and understand how to uncover a prospect's business challenges and objectives.

    • Help the team qualify leads based on predefined criteria, assessing their potential fit for our offerings.

  • Sales Operations and Collaboration:

    • Gain hands-on experience with our CRM (e.g., Salesforce) by helping to update lead statuses, log activities, and maintain accurate records.

    • Assist with the coordination and scheduling of meetings and product demonstrations for the sales team.

    • Support the BDR and sales teams in preparing for client meetings.


Qualifications

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Graduating no earlier than December 2026.

  • A strong desire to learn and a passionate interest in pursuing a career in sales or business development.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a natural curiosity to learn about new people and businesses.

  • Self-motivated and coachable, with a proactive mindset and a desire to achieve goals.

  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to multitask.

  • No prior sales experience is required, but any experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, service industry) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is a bonus, but not required.

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender. The expected base pay range for this position is: $23.50-$25.50 per hour.
