As an integral part of our finance operations, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial services across the University. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting accurate accounting transactions and monitoring the University's income, expenditure, and balance sheet
- Producing and distributing regular financial system reports to support decision-making
- Contributing to annual budget preparation, monitoring, and statutory accounts reporting
- Delivering exceptional customer service to colleagues and external stakeholders
Under the apprentice scheme, a minimum of six hours per week will be invested in training towards the achievement of your qualification. In addition to the support offered through the training provider, a workplace mentor will provide practical advice and guidance throughout the duration of your apprenticeship.
This position sits within the Shared Services Team, in Finance and Strategic Planning.
The Finance and Strategic Planning team plays a vital role in supporting the University to plan, manage, and optimise its financial resources - ensuring they are used sustainably, responsibly, and in alignment with strategic objectives.
- Completed your A Level studies (or will be awaiting your results), and will have a minimum grade 5 GCSE in both Maths and English Language
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- A proactive approach and willingness to take initiative
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-focused attitude
- Enthusiasm for developing your finance career through structured learning
