During a summer in PDS&T, an intern would own a focused technical project to gain experience with analytical chemistry method development, helping design and implement new methods using cutting edge automation instrumentation and vibrational spectroscopy. The intern would be placed in the PDS&T Analytical Sciences group. 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Demonstrating scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities. 

  • Leveraging strong chemistry backgrounds for analytical method development using various analytical instruments and conducting hands-on experiments in laboratory settings. 

  • Developing and executing laboratory work, drawing conclusions and deviations. 

  • Summarizing and presenting results with clear conclusions and recommendations for future steps. 

  • Collaborating in troubleshooting automation workflows and improving data quality. 

  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable policies and procedures. 

  • Understanding and adhering to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials and GxP compliance, where applicable 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry other related field of study 

  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Previous research/lab experience and experience with wet lab, analytical chemistry, process chemistry, modeling, and data analysis software 

  • Experience with quantitative data analysis including data interpretation and statistical analysis 

  • Exposure Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate concepts and problems in terms that are understandable to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
