Job Description
What you will do:
As an Associate Certification Engineer Intern, you will be a member of the store app certification engineering team working on a centralized certification service. The certification team is responsible for Implementation Reviews of Scoped Applications certified on the ServiceNow Store, that allow submitted content to be reviewed and certified against best practices and security on the ServiceNow platform.
- Conduct technical reviews of Scoped Applications submitted by ServiceNow Build Partners, ensuring compliance with platform best practices and security standards
- Collaborate with ServiceNow Build Partners to communicate review findings and provide guidance on remediation steps
- Assist in developing automated testing scripts and tools to streamline certification processes
- Learn and apply ServiceNow platform best practices, security requirements, and performance optimization techniques
- Participate in team initiatives to improve certification workflows and documentation
- Work under the mentorship of senior engineers to develop expertise in ServiceNow architecture and application design patterns
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a full-time Bachelor's Degree program in Computer Science or a related discipline at an accredited university
- Must be a student for the full duration of the internship and returning to college for at least one semester following completion of the internship i.e. graduating in 2027
- Must be available to start on 9th March 2026
- Commit to the full-time 6 months internship duration
- Solid foundation in scripting/development (JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar languages)
- Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON)
- Familiarity with REST APIs and web service integration concepts
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt quickly to the ServiceNow platform
- Ability to learn quickly the new features and products on the ServiceNow platform
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in evaluating or integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving through AI tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or assessing AI's potential impact
- Exposure to the ServiceNow platform or willingness to obtain ServiceNow certifications
- Ability to understand several testing techniques (e.g. performance, unit, integration, automated), their strengths and weakness, and ability to use them to best effect - including tracking and addressing of any discovered issues
- Understanding of security testing principles and common vulnerabilities (OWASP)
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Interest in quality engineering and test automation
- Understanding of foundational AI concepts including basic prompt engineering
- Experience with the agile methodology for software development teams
- Previous quality or software engineering experience gained from internships, academic or personal projects, coding competitions or relevant publications
