The PDS&T Analytical Sciences group develops, optimizes, validates and transfers new robust analytical methods to support the late-stage development pipeline programs and commercial products. During a summer in the Analytical Sciences group within PDS&T, the intern will own a technical project focused on chromatography based analytical method developments for polymer characterization, address manufacturing and process challenges, and facilitate new technologies development. You will have the opportunity to independently design and execute analytical methods to support robust manufacturing processes development for clinical phase and commercial products. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficacy of our products, making a direct impact on patients’ health and well-being.

As a Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Intern, this position  involves highly collaborative work where the intern will have the chance to work closely with cross-functional teams including process and product development, CMC, process engineering, internal and external manufacturing, quality assurance, and operations manufacturing sites. This collaborative environment will allow you to expand your knowledge and skills while making meaningful contributions to the organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Demonstrating scientific initiative and creativity in research and development activities.
  • Leveraging strong chemistry backgrounds for analytical method development using various analytical instruments and conducting process chemistry and synthetic experiments.
  • Developing and executing laboratory work, drawing conclusions and deviations.
  • Summarizing and presenting results with clear conclusions and recommendations for future steps.
  • Performing routine and complex tasks competently and independently, ensuring the generation of reliable and consistent results.
  • Maintaining compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and adhering to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials and GxP compliance, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with functional and technical experts to facilitate scientific achievement. The ability to work in a team environment is a priority.
  • Publish/present project-related research in peer-reviewed journals or at national conferences.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry other related field of study
  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous research experience with analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry and characterization.
  • Previous research experience with SEC/GPC method development, and data analysis software.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate concepts and problems in terms that are understandable to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret scientific experiments, providing suggestions for additional experiments. Self-motivated to execute with limited supervision and direction. Ability to conduct and interpret scientific experiments, providing suggestions for additional experiments.
  • Troubleshoot instrument, identify and solve elementary problems in experimental designs. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
