Marvell is a leading provider of innovative storage technologies, including ultra-fast read channels, high-performance processors, leading edge transceivers, highly efficient analog designs, and powerful cryptographic engines. Many of the same technologies have been utilized in Marvell storage system solutions products, powering PCs, servers, cloud, and enterprise systems.What You Can Expect
As a Firmware Engineering Intern at Marvell, you will work on embedded software that powers advanced silicon solutions across storage, compute, networking, and security. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to:
- Design, develop, and test firmware features, device drivers, and embedded software stacks
- Support system-level integration and product bring-up across various platforms
- Contribute to security firmware, hardware security modules, and provisioning tools
- Build and enhance automation tools, test infrastructure, and lab utilities
- Perform unit testing, system validation, and debugging across hardware/software layers
- Gain hands-on experience with real-world product development, from concept to customer release
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a MASTER'S degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields with an anticipated graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027
- Strong problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Python and/or C
- Comfortable working in Windows or Linux-based development environments
- Understanding of computer architecture, networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP), and/or embedded systems
Knowledge or experience with any of the following technical skills:
- Git, GitHub, or Gerrit
- Linux, Makefiles, GDB, IDEs, and bash scripting
- ARM CPU, RISC-V, TrustZone, Caliptra, or Trusted Firmware
- RTOS architecture, device drivers, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, I3C, UART, USB, PCIe, MDIO)
- Security protocols (IPSec, TLS/SSL, SPDM, digital certificates, cryptography)
- DSP concepts (Equalizers, Filters, ADC, DAC, FFE, DFE)
- Python/bash scripting, Jenkins CI, and software regression planning
- GUI development, lab automation, and customer SDKs
- Ethernet, SERDES, Switches, and Routers
- Unit testing, system integration, and debugging tools
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
32 - 64, $ per hour.The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
