At HAL R&D, we focus on innovative solutions for intelligent management of energy resources in modern data center environments. Join an engineering team dedicated to advancing power electronics systems, hardware control, and high-reliability switching architectures for mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Support hardware architecture design and system integration for advanced power and energy management platforms.
- Develop, prototype, and test embedded control systems for real-time power distribution and reliability (including ATS/STS switching, multiplex power routing).
- Conduct hands-on power system testing and validation, focusing on rack-level and hall-level equipment in laboratory settings.
- Work with control hardware such as automatic transfer switches (ATS), static transfer switches (STS), and multiplexing devices to ensure robust electrical power control.
- Assist with system troubleshooting, reliability assessments, and deployment support.
- Document engineering workflows, testing procedures, and system findings.
Required Qualifications
- Current M.S./PhD student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline with a hardware focus.
- Direct hands-on lab experience with power electronics and embedded system control hardware.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad), and operation of test equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal imaging cameras, network analyzers).
- Understanding of ATS/STS switching systems, power multiplexing architectures, and real-time control logic.
- Familiarity with IEEE standards (1547, 1588), UL safety listings, and data center electrical codes.
- Strong troubleshooting and testing skills for mission-critical electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data center infrastructure/operations and automated switching systems.
- Knowledge of system commissioning, reliability testing, or control software for hardware interfaces.

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area.
