Job Description Summary

Job Description

Define technologies and methodologies for certified safety, stability, and collision avoidance in robotic systems. Robotic systems could be deployed in multiple environments including manufacturing and fielded systems.  Example of technologies that could be deployed include Lyapunov functions for stability, and barrier functions to prove collision avoidance.

Tools and demonstrations of technology capabilities.  Demonstration could be through simulation or physical systems.

Demonstration of technology readiness advancement in robotic systems that interact in the physical world.

Basic Qualifications:

-Pursuing a Master's degree in computer science, mechatronics, robotics, or electrical engineering.  Experience in analyzing learning algorithms for physical systems.

-Minimum GPA of 4.0/5.0.

-Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
-Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

Desired Qualifications:

-Currently pursuing a PhD in robotics and have demonstrated deployment of learning systems in real world environments.

The pay for this position ranges from $1,000-2,000/weekly based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed

This position is also eligible for:

  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans. (Eligibility occurs on the 1st of the month following the 90th day.)
