JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Part-time position for Master’s or Bachelor's level therapist INTERN, for Regional Intervention Program (RIP), Columbia. Previous mental health experience is preferred but not required.  No weekends, holidays, or on-call required.

Full time internship is a non-paid position.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervised and trained by Centerstone staff (this internship works families with young children ages 1.5 - 6)
  • Conduct tasks with individuals and their families who are receiving mental & behavioral health services
  • Take client data
  • Observe and participate in case management
  • Conduct 1-3 meetings with parents during time of internship
  • Participate in program duties to ensure program runs smoothly

 
WORK SCHEDULE

  • 20 hours per week. Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am -6:00pm are program operating days and times. These days will be mandatory for the internship unless it is school related classes or events that conflict. 
  • Internship within clinic setting in Columbia, TN 

 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working toward a master’s degree in public health, social sciences, or related field
  • Interest in gaining experience working with children and their families
  • Demonstrated history of being able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work with data; detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to commit to required Tuesday/Thursday schedule.

Students will have hands on experience interacting with clients. Students will have the opportunity to enhance professional skills. Additionally, students will gain experience and training on Microsoft Excel, while learning to clean and analyze data sets. Students will learn to navigate data visualization and storytelling through creating one pagers and other presentations.

If selected, students will be guided to fulfill a background check and provide five (5) references as part of the Centerstone onboarding process.
