As an Operations & Quality Intern, you’ll support the implementation of our Quality Management System for new business launches. You’ll gain hands-on experience with the foundational tools and processes that ensure world-class operational performance, learning how new production lines, training cells, and quality controls are established before customer go-live.

  • On-site role

  • Location: Auburn Hills, MI (DP World does not offer accommodations for internships)

  • Strong performance could lead to a full-time position after graduation

  • 10-week program that will run from June 2026 to August 2026

  • Department: Operations

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in developing Process Flows, PFMEA, and Standard Work Instructions to support new business launches

  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new systems and workflows

  • Help create and organize training materials and assist in training cell setup

  • Participate in process audits to verify readiness and adherence to quality standards

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and quality teams to identify improvement opportunities

  • Document lessons learned and support the continuous improvement of launch procedures

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Students pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiarity with process mapping, data analysis, or quality systems is a plus

  • Practical application of Quality Management System (QMS) tools such as PFMEA and process mapping

  • Exposure to Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies in a global logistics environment

  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver measurable process improvements
