In-person internship at NASI studio in Tustin, CA; 5 days/week, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, mid-May to late August.
Subaru of America, Inc.’s Internship Program provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world experience related to their major. Interns have the chance to work on meaningful projects, collaborate with professionals, and develop skills that will be beneficial in their future careers. It’s an excellent way to jump-start their career and enhance their skillset, making them more marketable in their field of study.
Course of Study
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Transportation Design, Product Design, or related field.
Term
SUMMER PROGRAM
- 10-12 weeks in length [37.5 hours per week during the summer]
Internship to begin mid-May and end late August
Work Schedule: Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Location: North American Subaru, Inc., 14382 Chambers Rd., Tustin, CA 92780
$20 an hour
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Transportation Design program or related area of study
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Available for in-person work at our Tustin, CA studio
Portfolio review and interview will be conducted prior to selection
Skills
High level skills in automotive exterior, interior, and/or color, material, and finish (CMF) design.
Proficient with all industry standard software including Photoshop, Blender/SubD, and Alias
Prepared to work on a variety of live projects including advanced production design
Responsibilities
Generate automotive design proposals in 2D and 3D
Collect and analyze customer and market trend information
Work with digital modeling and visualization teams to prepare designs for presentation
Support the NASI design team with a variety of assignments related to advanced design for the U.S. market
SUMMARY
Subaru of America’s Research & Development groups are fast-paced and exciting environments that provide an opportunity to experience OEM design operations on an international level.This position involves creation of automotive design proposals in collaboration with Subaru’s creative teams in California and Japan.
