Job Description

The Robert Bosch Corporation realizes the mutual benefit of developing students over several work terms in the Logistics function. Therefore, we are seeking to hire students who wish to begin their Bosch career with a co-op at the Florence, KY facility. Students will receive valuable training, develop interpersonal skills, and gain increased work responsibilities throughout the program.

At the Florence, KY facility, Bosch designs and produces precision automotive steering components and systems sold to vehicle manufacturers worldwide. These include electronic steering racks and various components supporting the assemblies.

Below are some typical responsibilities for the LOG department Interns

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include but not limited to the following:

  • Perform root cause analysis of constrains and propose suitable measures
  • Create automated Excel reports for Logistic KPIs.
  • Perform inventory reports and analyze trends (bank tracking, FG levels)
  • Assist measure tracking (cross-functional) & monthly measure reporting to AS-SC management
  • Assist with Project Inbound by tracking supplier inventory, make recommendations for suppliers to implement, and join bi-weekly meetings
  • Develop cost justifications for new/updated packaging requirements through Total Cost of Ownership analysis and calculations.
  • Communicate directly with packaging suppliers to request samples, test and procure packaging.
  • Work on process standardizations within the packaging department
  • Troubleshoot and perform problem analysis related to production, products and materials.
  • Support with creation of reporting tools (Power BI etc.) to track major department KPIs
  • Work with other departments (Production, Planning, Quality, etc) in support of projects and departmental packaging goals and objectives.
  • Support in returnable management objectives, as needed.
  • Assist in value stream mapping and work instructions.
  • Any other Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Qualified candidates will have at least Sophomore status in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program. Preferred degrees include, but not limited to: Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration/Management.
  • Must maintain a minimum of 3.0 or higher
  • Ability to work any shift or days required during co-op term (not exceeding 40 hrs/week
