Job Description:

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a master's student intern on power system analysis. The intern will focus on small-signal stability analysis of a modern power system including AC and DC transmission systems, and both synchronous and inverter-based resources.  The student will join our research team of Grid Management and Optimization in Mannheim, Germany.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Perform literature review on small-signal stability analysis
  • Develop algorithm to identify eigenvalues corresponding to sub-phenomenon
  • Identify critical eigenvalues sensitive to operating conditions of test grids
  • Document and present findings

Your Background:

  • Currently studying a master's degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, mathematics or a related field
  • Knowledge of power system analyses and control theory
  • Knowledge of optimization and machine learning is an advantage
  • Good programming skills including Python, MATLAB  or any other modern programming language
  • Good team player with strong communication skills
  • As the working language is english, we expect excellent language skills. Basic knowledge of German is an advantage
