This position is a comprehensive 6-9 month learning experience in Global Supply Chain R&D. The individual will collaborate closely with Chemists and Scientists to integrate data science into R&D processes, contributing to the design of better-performing paints. The individual will be assigned Technical Projects that require the application of data science and data analytics skills. A summary of projects will be presented at the conclusion of the internship. In addition to fore data science work, interns will also contribute to digital initiatives and data visualization projects that support R&D functions. Throughout the assignment, the intern will participate in periodic performance reviews, engage in special networking and learning events, and gain experience working in cross-functional teams and alongside other Interns and Co-ops. This opportunity is designed to provide firsthand experience in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment.
The individual selected for this role will work at the new Sherwin-Williams Morikis Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. This position is 100% on-site. There will be no relocation assistance.
All hires must go through a background check before the start of employment.
Minimum Requirements
• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (“STEM”) at the time of the internship program
• Experience in Python, SQL, Data Visualization Tools (Tableau)
• Familiarity with Machine Learning Techniques
• Understanding of statistical modeling, data wrangling, data cleaning and data transformation
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total 6-9 months, from May-December, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Minimum of 2.8 GPA
• Must have completed a minimum of two years of college
Preferred Qualifications
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data science
• Previously completed an internship or co-op program
• Pursuing a bachelor's in data science or master's degree in data science
