The Opportunity:
CACI is offering exciting paid Internship opportunities as a Junior ISSO Intern. This team works with a federal workforce staff with technical expertise for the smooth functioning of high-visibility, department-wide AI initiatives. The ideal candidate for the Junior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Intern role will work with the team that provides assistance with FISMA, NIST, and IT security processes. This team is responsible for IT security assessments, audits, and documentation. They assist with the development and maintenance of information assurance, maintaining operational security postures, and supporting system owners and security managers.
Responsibilities:
The Junior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Intern assist the team that provides support for providing IT security assessment and IT security audit functions to ensure FISMA compliance; developing and maintaining documentation to support Certification & Accreditation (C&A) as required by the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA); ensuring all C&A and system security documentation is kept up to date; and ensuring systems meet all security requirements mandated by DHS 4300A and DHS Management Directives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology or Computer Science
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, structured thinking, and the ability to connect information across various problem statements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with senior Federal government representatives to field and trouble shooting questions and issues
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Desired:
- Pursuing a degree Degree in Cyber Security
- Understanding of information security best practices
- Strong organization and communications skills and ability to work collaboratively
- MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience receiving initial information and guidance, conducting research to better understand requirements

The proposed salary range for this position is:
