Job Description

Life Sciences Internship Coordinator

The College of Life Sciences is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Internship Coordinator to lead and enhance our internship programs. This role is central to connecting students with meaningful experiential learning opportunities, fostering relationships with external partners, and ensuring that internship experiences align with academic and career goals. If you're passionate about student success, skilled in data management, and thrive in a collaborative environment — we invite you to help us elevate the internship experience across the college.

What you’ll do in this position:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of internship placements, ensuring alignment with academic standards and experiential learning goals.
  • Partner with departmental internship coordinators and the Experiential Learning Office to streamline processes and enhance student outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain an internship database, ensuring accurate records for stakeholders. Track placements and outcomes to support strategic planning.
  • Utilize tools like Handshake, LinkedIn, BYU Connect, and others to connect students with current internship opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external organizations, serving as a liaison to expand internship opportunities and represent the college in collaborative initiatives.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. 
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience in student services, career development, or internship coordination.
  • Professional demeanor, excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years in student services, career development, or internship coordination.
  • Knowledge of BYU policies and procedures regarding internships.

Pay Grade: 51

Typical Starting Pay: $28.25 to $35.25 an hour
