Sustainability Communications Student Internship

The UVA Office for Sustainability is seeking a collaborative communicator to work with our Associate Manager of Communications to help us convey UVA Sustainability to students, faculty and staff members. This position, open to currently enrolled UVA students, involves website content optimization and outreach education. The internship will be for fall 2025 with the possibility to continue during spring semester.

Tasks include:

• Update and revise content for the Office for Sustainability website.
• Update digital communications to make accessible according to WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) AA standards.
• Support for various events including Campus Sustainability Month, Earth Month, etc.
• Support digital and print communications for UVA Sustainability, including newsletter.

Skills include:

• Detail-oriented
• Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills
• Strong web-based writing skills
• Time and project management skills
• Understanding of UVA and OFS branding

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
