Alongside your degree, you’ll be joining our experts at Filton, immediately being able to apply your skills to the world of Commercial Aircraft. You'll be assigned to a department with incredible career potential:

  • Flight Physics

  • Fuel (incl Hydrogen) & Landing Gear Testing

What you will be doing:

Our Digital Degree Apprenticeship offers a full degree with no fees, plus vocational training with a regular salary. Airbus is leading the way with this unique 4 year programme through which you will achieve a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions. You will be studying via our training partner, Weston College (UCW), and your degree will be accredited by the University of the West of England.  Your industry based work takes place at our world leading aircraft manufacturer site in Filton, Bristol.

Key activities of the industry based work of this apprenticeship include:

  • Contributing to new and innovative software which is used in the overall aircraft design, testing or optimization processes;

  • Working on software solutions to support in-service aircraft;

  • Participate in all phases of the application development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support;

  • Interface with engineers and IT specialists to provide solutions to business needs.

Requirements:

In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship you must have a minimum of either:

  • 3 A-Levelsas grade C/4 or above, preferably in Maths, Sciences and IT 

OR

  • T Levelin an IT/Digital subject at Merit or above

OR

  • BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in an IT/Digital subject, at minimum MMM grade 

OR

  • Equivalent qualifications/Experience subject to validation

AND

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEsincluding English Language and Maths – Grade 4/C or above

**Please note that, due to the funded nature of this programme, applicants with undergraduate degrees in computing/IT are not eligible.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Enjoys solving mathematical or science problems through coding;

  • Some previous experience of coding and/or Linux/cloud;

  • The ability to work well in a team;

  • Not afraid to get “stuck-in” and learn;

  • Proactive, love to learn and be able to focus on your own self development;

  • Ability to manage problems, communicating effectively to resolve them in a fast-paced environment;

GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the position’s requirements before the apprenticeship start date.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).

LEVY FUNDING:Successful candidates must be eligible for the levy funding.
