Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)The Competitive and Market Intelligence Analyst will support the Urban Rail Signaling (URS) BL by conducting market intelligence activities, market analysis and industry researches to assist the URS business. Reporting to Strategic Marketing Manager, the Competitive and Market Intelligence Analyst works closely with marketing and product teams, sales, key account managers and capture leaders.
Key Accountabilities:
Manage the competitive and market intelligence lifecycle for URS BL, spanning from data collection to structuring, and also intelligence dissemination
Contribute to the deployment and management of Competitive and Market Intelligence process and tools
Define and update the structure of the research plan for URS
Create URS market intelligence newsletters
Support AI Projects whenever necessary
Manage and feed with relevant information the top management
Conducts targeted market research and analysis
Investigate and analyze our competitors’ business activities and update competitors profiles
Increase our knowledge of our competitors, and, more widely, our whole ecosystem, thanks to collective intelligence
Engages with the Global Business Unit (GBU) and Business Line globally to develop an in-depth understanding of Thales resources, capabilities and internal networks regarding market intelligence
Works closely with the GBU and Country business intelligence teams
Key Requirements:
Must be able to commit 8 months to the role starting from Jan 2, 2026.
University degree or working towards a degree in marketing or business/market intelligence; and/or equivalent experience
Experience in market study, knowledge management and Business Intelligence methods
Ability to assimilate, integrate and extract relevant information in a concise manner, as appropriate
Strong capabilities in Excel, data crunching, Visual Basic
Past AI experience to automate activities/process
Experience with any BI tools
Strong language skills – must be comfortable in drafting messages in English; and be able to understand and operate comfortably in an international business environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an international organization and/or in the Rail Industry is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Market intelligence or equivalent
Inquisitive mind, critical mind, autonomy, responsiveness, ability to network and openness to other cultures
