Western National Intern Program Summary:
Western National provides a robust internship program designed for individuals aiming to acquire valuable experience in the insurance industry. This program not only offers practical, hands-on opportunities and project work in partnership with our personal lines underwriting team; but interns will also have the opportunity to enhance their existing skill sets through a range of professional development activities, cultivate relationships with employees and fellow interns, and participate in impactful volunteer initiatives within the community.
Position Summary:
As a Personal Lines Underwriting intern in our Internship Program, you will be a key contributor to our personal lines team. Possible tasks that you assist with include:
- Learning insurance industry terms, goals, challenges, and business communication skills
- Partnering with underwriting and other departments to modify renewal business as needed
- Assessing replacement cost value for property business and ensure adequate limits are in place
- Update policies when incoming communication outlines a change in risk
- Communication with agency force regarding changes or requests for information
Requirements
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Completed 2-3 years of college preferred
- Willingness to focus for extended periods of time
- Proven project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task, and establish/meet deadlines
- An understanding of various technology applications
Compensation Overview:
The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.
