Your responsibilities:

Assist in conducting fundamental research and analysis in support of existing investments and potentially new investment ideas, in quantitative research of alpha signals.
Review and support the preparation of financial statement models and projections used to determine equity valuations
Assist investment team in preparing written reports and presentation materials
Provide analytical and financial modeling support to Research Analysts
Develop strong relationships with Research Analysts and Associates to assist them in supporting the accountabilities
Keep current on political and economic trends and events
Create and maintain positive relationships within and outside the team
Willing to focus on what matters most; demonstrated ability to prioritize time and tasks
Work closely with portfolio managers of leading funds in the Canadian portfolio management industry, including sit-down, one-on-one job shadowing opportunities
Gain exposure to various investment classes and areas, including but not limited to equity research, fixed income, and foreign exchange
Participate in a variety of investment-related meetings, such as macroeconomic discussions and brainstorming sessions with portfolio managers, equity analysts, and fixed income analysts
Enhance financial research skills by working on the buy-side with access to numerous sell-side reports authored by experts in their fields
Benefit from continuous mentorship and feedback, applicable to multiple areas of finance and essential for career development

Your Qualifications:

Strong desire to develop a deep understanding of the financial industry
Demonstrated dedication to learning and a true passion for finance and the capital markets
Experience with Excel and PowerPoint are required
Strong communication, planning and organization skills are required
Knowledge of financial analytical and research skills would be an asset
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment

Education

Enrollment in an undergraduate degree within a relevant discipline (e.g.)finance, math)
