Overview
KSM is seeking a motivated and curious college student to join our AI & Automation team as a Summer Intern. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, process automation, and data-driven business transformation. You’ll collaborate with experienced data scientists, automation specialists, and business consultants to develop and deploy solutions that create measurable impact.
Who You Are
You’re an analytical thinker with a strong academic foundation in mathematics, physics, or related quantitative fields, and you’re eager to apply that knowledge to real-world problems. You enjoy problem-solving, learning new technologies, and experimenting with intelligent systems that simplify complex workflows.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and testing of AI models and automation workflows.
Support the implementation of machine learning, natural language processing, and process automation projects.
Analyze datasets to identify automation opportunities and optimize performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
Document workflows, data pipelines, and outcomes for ongoing improvements.
Participate in innovation discussions and proof-of-concept experiments.
Qualifications
Completed sophomore year of college or higher.
Pursuing a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Understanding of linear algebra and calculus (I, II, and III)
Demonstrated understanding of Probability or Optimization Principles gained through formal coursework or rigorous technical/laboratory courses
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Python, R, or other related languages.
Exposure to or interest in AI/ML concepts, data analytics, or automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, or similar).
Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to learn in a collaborative environment.
Preferred (but not required) Skills
Experience with data visualization or statistical modeling.
Familiarity with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Coursework or project work involving AI, robotics, or simulation.
