We’re looking for eligible students to join Hitachi Rail! Hiring for May 2026 through August 2026.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure the implementation of assigned actions as per the manufacturing action plan (i.e., audit, failure analysis, improvement plan, etc.)
- Work with internal and external test and IT resources to ensure test software and data systems (based on SQL database server) are operating correctly with data maintenance as required.
- Communicate issues to R&D department for assigned activities and submit forms and markups for documentation updates.
- Support analysis and continuous improvement of production test yield, working to identify root cause and propose solutions.
- Support technology transfers of test processes across the global supply chain.
- Support definition of test requirements, and test process creation for new products as part of new product introduction team.
- Ensure the implementation of new test process and tools as per assigned action plans.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficient with Microsoft 360 applications – Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
- Basic understanding software writing and editing experience/skills.
- Problem anticipation and solving techniques, strong at troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electronics and analyzing electrical schematics.
- Mechanically oriented, able to use common tools for disassembly & reassembly of various pieces of test equipment.
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Previous internships within a manufacturing environment (e.g., printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly, electromechanical assembly, casting, forging, machining, tooling, and fixture design)
- Experience in NI LabVIEW and Teststand.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Windows based PC hardware and software (98, XP, 7, 10)
- Networking setup and troubleshooting
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Software, or other appropriate Engineering science disciplines with preference for Electrical Engineering with a graduation date between December 2026 and December 2027.
Languages:
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
