This is a hybrid position primarily based in Bolingbrook, IL. We’re committed to your flexibility and wellbeing, and our hybrid strategy currently requires three days a week in the office, giving you the option to work remotely for some of your working week.
This ten-to-twelve-week internship program will run from 1st June to August 2026. Successful interns may be offered returning internships and / or a full-time position with us upon graduation.

A role you will love

Work alongside an experienced team, contributing to the development and support of systems that help the business meet both internal and external client needs. As a Perl Developer intern, you’ll assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and databases using appropriate languages and tools. You’ll gain hands-on experience with unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT), as well as investigating technical issues under the guidance of senior developers. Additionally, you may contribute to documenting new or updated business and operational support procedures. This role also includes exposure to real-time production environments, including the potential to participate in an on-call support rotation, ensuring system stability and responsiveness outside of regular business hours.
As a Perl Developer intern, you'll also have the opportunity to dive into the technical side of software development, working with experienced engineers to build, maintain, and improve the systems that power real business operations. Whether it’s automating repetitive tasks, optimizing data workflows, debugging code, or supporting live applications, this role will help you sharpen your programming skills and give you insight into how software and systems support the larger goals of a business. You'll also gain valuable experience working in a collaborative, real-world environment, where your contributions can help drive efficiency, innovation, and reliability.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Other preferred qualifications
- Enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or Computer Engineering degree program
- Experience in programming languages and operation systems including Perl, XML and SQL
- Impactful involvement through work, academic leadership, volunteerism or activism within the community

- The base pay for this role is $24 per hour. This base pay range is specific to Bolingbrook, IL and may not be applicable to other locations.
- We’re not able to offer a relocation package for this role, so we’re looking for candidates who are already based in Bolingbrook, Illinois or able to commute there.
