Job Description

We are actively seeking an VDC Technician Intern to join CRB. How will I contribute? 

As a VDC Technician Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables. As the VDC Intern, you will help with creating and reviewing project documents for CRB projects. You will assist the VDC Coordinator in coordinating all discipline deliverables within the project model. Tasks include creating views, running audits, sheet package organization, data management, and clash detection. Will uphold and communicate VDC standards with clients, sub-consultant and all disciplines for assigned projects. Projects will consist of both existing building renovations and new construction. Project sizes will vary and require documentation for all disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Architecture and Process).

Core Responsibilities  

  • Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.  

  • Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead. 

  • Coordinating with other disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors). 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
  • Available to work full-time during the internship period: May–August 2026
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Strong interest in the Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industries
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and with internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients, contractors)
  • Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world design and construction technology applications
  • Willingness to relocate or work in one of CRB’s internship locations, which may include:
    Kansas City (MO), Raleigh (NC), Orange County (CA), Philadelphia (PA), St. Louis (MO), Boston (MA), San Diego (CA), Kalamazoo (MI), Denver (CO), and/or Rockville (MD)

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and 3D collaboration tools (Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, Assemble) 

  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry 

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in CAD, BIM, Engineering Design, or related field
