If you are a software engineering student looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Shakopee, Eden Prairie, or Chanhassen, MN locations, as a Software Engineering Intern you will work as an integral part of a team responsible for developing world-class Software for measurement & analytical instrumentation.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Apply technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and job experience in the design and development of embedded firmware
- Prepare detailed plans, generally spanning several weeks to months, necessary to complete assignments.
- Troubleshoot and debug the Software using unit tests, Emulators, Simulators, IDE, and bench testing
- Provide process improvements & recommendations
- Work with internal cross-functional teams to understand firmware requirements
- Perform functional integration testing prior to hand-off to the test & evaluation team
- Conduct software design reviews on assigned projects
- Pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering or Science from an Engineering School (students of any class status will be considered)
- Zero (0) years of related experience
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person at a Twin Cities location (Shakopee, Chanhassen, or Eden Prairie, MN)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Prior internship experience

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $25.00- 27.00 hourly, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
