Position Overview
Micron is seeking a highly motivated graduate student to join the Memory Pathfinding team as an intern. This 6+ month internship offers a hands-on opportunity to explore memory innovation in advanced computing systems, with a focus on AI architectures, workloads, and applications. Interns will receive mentorship from experienced architects and contribute to system-level modeling, benchmarking, and competitive analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develop system models for various architecture configurations and use cases
- Automate system and tradeoff analysis for performance, power, and TCO metrics
- Benchmark enterprise and data center workloads at the system level
- Conduct competitive analysis using emulation and simulation platforms
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- Strong foundation in computer architecture, systems modeling, and simulation
- Familiarity with memory subsystems and architectural tradeoffs
- Experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX)
- Understanding of AI workloads and system-level performance bottlenecks
- Ability to conduct independent research with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Agentic AI systems and their architectural implications
- Hands-on experience with system-level benchmarking and tradeoff analysis
- Interest in emerging AI technologies and their impact on memory design
- Experience presenting technical findings to multi-functional teams
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$50.24 - $55.82Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
