This co-op will be hybrid, and students must be located near one of our U.S. offices – Wellesley, MA; Kansas City, MO; Hartford, CT; Portland, ME; Milwaukee, WI.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and curious individual to join our Agile Delivery team as a Scrum Master intern. In this hybrid role, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of agile delivery operations.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Participate and facilitate the scrum ceremonies: for example, daily stand up, product backlog refinement, sprint planning, sprint review, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams:  work closely with product, engineering, UX to understand the end-to-end relationship for the product.

• Support teams in their efforts to continuously improve, with the opportunity to promote your own ideas and observations 

• Build relationships within their teams and across the larger team of teams including other Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers (RTE).

• Participate in training and development: Engage in learning opportunities to expand your technical knowledge and skills. 

• Work closely with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests

• With support from the Agile Delivery team, learn techniques for managing risk and resolving conflicts.

• Help build a productive environment where team members “own” the product and enjoy working on it

Core skill sets needed for this role:

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. 

• Familiarity with the scrum framework with all its artifacts and techniques.  

• Ability to coordinate people and product work with your mindset on deliverables.

• Understanding of when changes could and should be introduced to the Scrum team.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 

• Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with both remote and on-site components.

• Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges. 

The Candidate

To be eligible for a co-op at Sun Life, you must meet the following requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university during the time of the co-op (January 2026 – June 2026)

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Communications, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a related field

• Eligible to legally work in the United States

• Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during co-op session

Compensation for this role will be around $25 an hour.
