Mechanical engineers within the High Voltage Distribution team routinely tackle extremely difficult engineering challenges and continuously push beyond what was deemed impossible in regards to mechanical packaging, electrical and thermal performance, cost, and delivery timelines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with design engineers and technicians to support prototype vehicle builds and debug electrical harness issues
  • Run basic part validation including thermal testing, thermal characterization and assembly functional checks
  • Be production first responder to diagnose vehicle HV harness and connector issues for vehicles in production line
  • Create test reports and documentation of results and issues
  • Investigate root cause of failures and help to drive product improvement
  • Supporting build and expansion of engineering lab (equipment, layout)
  • Design of various test jigs and fixtures to validate HV harness and connectors
  • Design of mechanical components and harness routing for Tesla vehicles

Job Requirements

  • C1 level in English, German is a plus
  • Preferably pursuing a degree in a relevant engineering field (Automotive, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals including structural, thermal, electrical and failure mechanics
  • Hands-on engineering passion and experience
  • Expertise in tolerance analysis, applying GD&T, finite element analysis (FEA), and basic thermal models
  • Expertise in CATIA V5/V6 is a plus
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving oriented
  • Capable of working in a fast paced and always changing environment
