This is a full-time 6-month internship located in Orlando, FL.
What You Will Be Doing
The Costume Production & Sustainment Costumers and Costume Production & Development Costumers are responsible for the development of new Character and entertainment costumes by taking the designer’s renderings from concept to fruition. They also handle the replenishment and sustainment of existing costumes. Customers source fabrics and commodities, create work orders and purchase orders, facilitate fittings and manage budgets, and work with vendors and various partners. They troubleshoot challenges related to costumes and provide customer support to talent and operating partners.
- Research and facilitate the manufacturing of new and replacement Entertainment costumes while keeping sustainability in the forefront, and keeping up documentation.
- Partner with Entertainment and Costuming Operations to ensure costume quality and design are consistently maintained
- Coordinate fittings with Entertainment and Workroom personnel
- Interact regularly with Entertainment Show Producers, Directors, Designers, and Entertainment and Costuming Operating Managers + Safety partners
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experienced in the Theater, Film, or Fashion Industry
- Proven planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Computer proficiency in programs such as Excel, OneNote, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Smartsheet, as well as willingness to learn new programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong partnering skills
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and vendors

Education
- Currently enrolled as a senior or graduate student
- Majoring in or previous coursework in Costuming, Costume or Apparel Design, Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
- Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
- Fully available Sunday through Saturday, for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week
