Organization & TeamOverview
The Comcast Cyber Security Solutions Engineering organization is dedicated to pioneering cybersecurity solutions that safeguard the backbone of Comcast – its infrastructure, employees, subscribers, and partners – empowering them to thrive is a secure digital landscape. Specifically, the CyberSecurity Reliability Engineering (CSRE) organization enhances operational efficiency by safeguarding Comcast’s infrastructure from the challenges of cyber threats.
As part of Comcast’s Cybersecurity Reliability Engineering (CSRE) organization, the Reliability Assurance (RA) team plays a critical role in securing the company’s network infrastructure. The team leads the Firewall Rule Governance Program, a structured initiative designed to manage firewall rule changes in accordance with cybersecurity best practices. This program helps reduce risk exposure, ensures policy compliance, and maintains a robust audit trail of all firewall rule activities.
Role Description
Join a high-performing cybersecurity team at one of the world’s leading media and technology companies. As a Security Analyst Co-op/Intern, you’ll play a hands-on role in protecting the digital backbone of millions of customers by helping govern and secure the company’s global firewall infrastructure.
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
In this role, you will have an opportunity to assess the risks of firewall rules in a network with thousands of interconnected systems, detect and trace authorized and unauthorized firewall changes, learn about change reconciliation, audit trails, and how to work with multiple firewall management platforms, ticketing systems, compliance dashboards and change detection tools to assist with firewall risk management.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for review and approval of Firewall/ACL change requests to ensure cybersecurity compliance and best practices.
Coordinate with multiple across the Comcast organization to communicate security requirements and to ensure security compliance issues are addressed and resolved in a timely fashion
Performs regular risk analysis to proactively identify and assess potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
Contribute to Security process standardization and improvement.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PreferredSkills
Knowledge of networking and firewalltechnologies
Knowledge of information security methodologies
Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to multi-task and follow through on projects to completion.
Preferred Majors: Cyber Security, Security Risk Analysis / Risk Management, Information Technology / Information Systems
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base Pay: $32.00Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
