The Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) team is looking for an Intern with hands-on experience working on frontend technologies as part of our rapidly growing engineering team. Our focus is to create a platform, partner ecosystem, and community by which enterprise customers can solve problems to accelerate business success using AI. This is a very exciting opportunity to build and impact the next generation of hybrid cloud MLOps platforms, contribute to the development of the RHOAI product, participate in open source communities, and be at the forefront of the exciting evolution of AI. Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, full-time internship based at the respective RH offices (Cork, Waterford, Dublin), with flexible working hours. The expected start date is January 2026.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to the development and testing of new UI features and solutions for RHOAI

  • Develop unit and integration tests, collaborating with engineers and product stakeholders to ensure product quality

  • Foster continuous improvement by learning and sharing recommendations and technical knowledge with team members

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders including product management, user experience design, documentation, and other engineering and cross-functional teams to analyze and clarify business requirements

  • Design and implement ideal UI solutions for end-users, utilizing our open source design system, PatternFly,  and wireframes from user experience design counterparts

  • Drive innovation in the MLOps domain through participation in upstream communities

  • Meet non-functional requirements including security, resiliency, and maintainability

  • Provide thoughtful and prompt code reviews

What you will bring:

  • You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Republic of Ireland during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us full time from January till August 2026

  • Working knowledge of written and spoken English

  • Good system understanding and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks and best practices

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Cypress, Jest, or React Testing Library

  • Familiarity with source code management tools such as Git

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

  • Zeal towards learning and using new tools and technologies; problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with back-end technologies like Node.js is a plus

  • Familiarity in developing applications with frontend languages such as React, TypeScript, or JavaScript is a plus
