The Internal Audit team provides independent assurance by monitoring operations, testing internal processes, and reporting results to senior leadership, helping strengthen our internal controls and uphold rigorous governance.
As an Internal Audit Intern, you’ll work closely with the management of the various business lines to understand business objectives and goals, confirm key risk areas, and identify emerging issues. The Internal Audit Department provides an independent assessment of BBH’s activities to ensure that the system of internal controls is adequate and continues to effectively mitigate key business risks. As an intern, you will assist in delivering internal audit services that help BBH businesses improve their control environment, streamline their business, and achieve operational excellence. To be successful, you’ll need to have strong analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail and an inquisitive mindset.
What you can expect from an Internal Audit Internship with BBH:
- Internal Controls Evaluation: Evaluating risks and controls, executing audit tests, communicating issues and findings, assisting in devising solutions for business improvements and following up on corrective actions
- Audit Methodology: Gaining an understanding of the complete audit process from planning, executing to reporting.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Developing familiarity with SOX, COSO, and other audit standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Opportunities to meet with Senior Leadership within the organization to discuss and understand their perspectives on the risks of their department, and the controls, processes and activities that mitigate those risks.
- Collaboration: Partner with fellow interns across the Line of Business to present a capstone project that tackles a meaningful business challenge, to senior leadership.
What the Internal Audit group looks for in an Intern:
- Current Junior in College, entering senior year in Fall of 2026 with a passion for finance, business, or accounting
- Strong academic achievement as evidenced through a GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Demonstrated leadership skills through academic and extracurricular activities
- Effective communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Attention to detail and a questioning mindset
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, i.e. Comfortable using common formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP, IF), building basic charts, and creating/manipulating pivot tables for simple analysis.

Salary Range
$25/hr + sign on
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
