The lab's mission is to develop technological solutions that meet the demands of the constantly evolving field of "last mile" delivery logistics. While the lab does not directly participate in day-to-day operations, its primary goal is to support operations and ensure their smooth execution. The lab team, of which the intern will be a part, is expected to be very dynamic in their development approach to align with the operations team and ensure that the technology deployed within the Intelcom network is effective, user-friendly, and minimizes operational blockers.
Responsibilities
The intern's main task will be to participate in the development, assembly, and testing of technological solutions in the logistics field. The team expects the intern to take on responsibilities for sections of the projects they undertake, without hesitation, using available resources to ensure successful completion.
Develop project plans, business cases, and specifications.
Design, prototype, assemble, and test system solutions.
Document and explain concepts to support installation and use.
Opportunity to visit sorting stations to learn the process or participate in the integration and development of technologies.
Any other tasks related to the daily functioning of the lab.
The roleinvolvesdaily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
Qualifications
Knowledge in electrical and electronic testing.
Experience in assembly (soldering, inspection, harness manufacturing, etc.) is a plus.
Experience using ECAD software (Altium Designer or similar) is a plus.
Broad knowledge of systems with a foundation in embedded programming and mechanics.
Able to document concisely.
Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Creativity, resourcefulness, and manual dexterity.
