Job Summary

An Electrical Engineering intern is being sought to work in the Nuclear Engineering Department at North Anna Power Station during the Summer of 2026.

The candidate will work in a position in the Electrical/Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineering Group.  The candidate will work on site and provide design support to the station developing design change documentation for plant modifications and assist in understanding, evaluation, and maintaining the existing Design Configuration of North Anna Power Plant, Units 1 & 2.  The candidate will work in a broad range of Electrical Power and I&C issues both on the component and system level.  Candidates will be expected to gain familiarity with Nuclear Power Plant design, including the Electrical Distribution System and or the Instrumentation and Control Systems at the station.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Ability to think analytically and solve engineering problems. 

Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices. 

Ability to process information and effectively manage multiple tasks. 

Strong planning, organizational and project management skills. 

Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing). 

Strong personal computer skills. 

Equally effective working independently or in team environment. 

Able to work as team player and work with various groups in the station to provide a user friendly product. 

Willing to get into the field and perform hands on evaluation of plant modifications

Education Requirements

Must have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.

Must be a student attending an ABET accredited Electrical or Computer Engineering program at a four year college or university. 

Must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.
