About the Program

Internship Details

  • Duration: 11 weeks, full-time

  • Dates of Internship: June 1, 2026 - August 14, 2026

  • Location: Remote, ideally located near Burlington/Raleigh, North Caroline however this is not essential

  • Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates

  • Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2026 through June 2028 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

About the Team:

The EHS Team is a collaborative working team with multiple locations across the region in one of Labcorp’s largest and most comprehensive diagnostic testing facilities. The team consists of an onsite EHS Specialist II, an EHS Manager who oversees the Burlington location and several locations within North Carolina and South Carolina, and an EHS Director providing support to all team members at Burlington and across the Southeast and Atlantic divisions.

Internship Assignment Summary:

  • Assist in in maintaining EHS Programs at Burlington

  • Assist with internal EHS Audits

  • Conduct walkabouts in all departments ensuring compliance with compliance applicable regulatory requirements

  • Write up observations and present them to EHS Manager to help minimize EHS related risk

Education/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in science or Technical Field of Environment, Health and Safety

  • Ability to work effectively with various internal colleagues

  • Communication and organizational skills of a high standard

Special Factors:

  • As part of the role, there would be a requirement to wear protective equipment that could include respiratory protection and other similar PPE

  • Immunizations and screenings may be required
