As part of the Program, Summer Associates will work on a variety of assignments including: including: in-court and out-of-court restructurings and recapitalizations, exchanges, tenders, and other liability management transactions, distressed M&A transactions and non-syndicated capital raises. . As a member of the team assigned to these projects, individuals will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: preparing for and attending client meetings, financial modeling, resolving complex accounting issues, financial statement and credit document analysis, valuation analysis, industry analysis, due diligence and new business development. The small deal team structure allows Summer Associates to have a strong platform to learn all aspects of restructuring and debt advisory and assume high levels of responsibility at early stages of their careers. Summer Associates will have a high level of interaction with all parties involved in a transaction and will help manage those relationships across the various law firms, consultants, accounting firms, creditors and other investment banks that the group works with consistently. Candidates must have a strong interest in investment banking with solid quantitative and analytical skills, as well the ability to think broadly about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients. Knowledge of accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy is necessary. Responsibilities for an Summer Associate include managing analysts, overseeing financial and valuation analysis, resolving complex financial and accounting issues, industry and competitive analysis, due diligence, drafting client presentations, management and execution of live deal situations, and assistance with new business development.
