Job Description:

Please note: This role will start out as a part-time intern for March through May 2026 and is expected to convert to a full-time summer internship for June through August 2026.

The Team

You will help source, qualify, and advance a proprietary pipeline of acquisition targets across Crowe’s business units and industry verticals, combining inbound referrals, intermediary relationships, and research.

Work directly with the Corporate Development team to produce materials (target profiles, one-pagers, and investment memos) for Crowe’s senior leadership.

Corporate Development is central to Crowe’s inorganic growth program, partnering with senior leadership to originate, evaluate, and execute acquisitions.

We hire analytical athletes with a bias for action, structured thinking, and sound commercial judgment.

Job Description:

What you’ll do:

  • Sourcing & Strategy: Assist with investment profiles; maintain CRM pipeline hygiene; coordinate outreach under guidance from the team.

  • Evaluation & Analytics: Conduct financials analyses (revenue growth, normalized EBITDA, working capital profile), track KPIs (utilization, realization, rev/billable FTE, backlog, client concentration, voluntary attrition); prepare market comps and precedent valuation metrics.

  • Process & Materials: Assist with CIM review, executive brief materials, and support diligence workstream preparation.

  • Tooling & Improvement: Leverage and build custom GPTs and other agentic tools to further accelerate our deal process.

The Intern will assist the Corporate Development team implementing a best-in-class research and deal execution methodology that allows key firm stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and risks early in the investment evaluation process.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: target identification, market and industry analysis, leadership evaluation, and target research and benchmarking.

Create research reports supporting the Corporate Development team in investment thesis development and analysis of potential targets.

Additional responsibilities may include identifying key research questions, research project management, and pre-LOI analysis.

Work with existing Crowe resources to build upon current internal research methodologies to identify opportunities that meet strategic target criteria.

Conduct early-stage financial modeling and evaluate deal metrics.

In this role you can expect to collaborate with key individuals and teams throughout the firm, including but not limited to: Business Unit Leaders, Industry Vertical Market Leaders, Value Creation and Integration Team, Legal, Finance/FP&A, Risk/Compliance, IT, and Talent Solutions/HR.

Requirements include:

  • Pursuing a major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. Targeting Class of 2028.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5

  • After the March - May 2026 part-time internship, desire to convert to a full-time Summer 2026 Intern for June - August 2026

  • Conduct research; synthesize noisy datasets into clear recommendations.

  • Be intellectually curious and capable of innovative thinking.

  • Possess exceptional written communication skills to drive conversations that lead to insightful analysis.

  • Able to build effective working relationships and demonstrate a strong internal client-service orientation.

  • Proven effective project-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced Excel (lookups, indexmatch, pivots, VBA). PowerPoint and Power BI basics. Responsible GenAI use (prompting, verification, citation) is an advantage.

  • Preferences include:

  • High attention to detail and focus, with the ability to complete complex tasks with limited supervision.

  • Bright, self-starting, innovative thinker, with a strong career interest in M&A who is willing to learn about professional services markets.

  • Persistent and resilient in the pursuit of objectives, can shift gears easily, willing to take on new challenges, and committed to resolving issues.

  • Dynamic thinker with the ability to aggregate research to reach a conclusion.

  • Fundamental understanding of three-statement financials and financial modeling.

  • Experience with research and analysis platforms such as Grata, PitchBook, S&P CapIQ, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other industry specific resources.

  • Basic understanding of Python, prompt/context engineering, and APIs.

  • Knowledge of broader M&A and public markets, and subject matter awareness of professional service firms.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $27.00 - $42.00 per hour.
