Position Summary

This position will support marketing communications to establish and maintain industry expertise for the Connected Technology Group. The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Director, Strategic Marketing, and assist with a variety of marketing initiatives that help align sales and marketing activities. The successful candidate will be a team player who has a strong interest in the planning, development and implementation of content marketing strategies and activities. The primary responsibilities include writing, editing, creating and curating content for digital marketing and communication materials. Additionally, this role assists in a variety of creative marketing functions including search engine optimization, email campaigns, tradeshow promotion/follow up and industry events.

Under the guidance of the Director, Strategic Marketing, a successful Marketing Intern will:

  • Support content creation by helping draft and schedule marketing materials such as blog posts, social media updates, email marketing campaigns, and basic ad copy (e.g., LinkedIn, Google, and AdWerx).
  • Assist with campaign coordination by helping organize and maintain the content marketing calendar and ensuring content is delivered on time.
  • Learn to write for digital platforms by contributing to the development of landing pages, case studies, and video scripts under supervision.
  • Collaborate with team members across marketing, sales, and product teams to gather input and ideas for content and campaigns.
  • Help manage lead generation tools by updating calls-to-action, forms, and basic nurture emails to support customer engagement.
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions to share creative ideas and learn how to align messaging with customer needs.
  • Provide event support by helping prepare materials and logistics for webinars, trade shows, and internal events.
  • Gain experience with marketing tools such as email platforms, content management systems, and analytics dashboards.
  • Track basic performance metrics by assisting with reporting on campaign results and learning how to use data to improve future efforts.
  • Learn about our industry and customers by researching trends and helping maintain accurate information about our target markets.
  • Support brand consistency by helping review and update materials to ensure they align with company guidelines.

Position Qualifications

Education

  • Students seeking an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, English and/or Communication Majors preferred.   

Experience

  • Strong writing skills and ability to use AI as a tool to improve writing
  • Attention to detail in managing projects and creative development and execution of marketing programs and materials is a must
  • Experience with an inbound marketing platform and proficiency in HubSpot and Salesforce, a plus
  • Experience in Jira or with the Agile methodology, a plus

Skills and Abilities

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office Suite, aptitude to learn HubSpot Marketing Automation Software, Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management Software, Jira, and other marketing and presentation software, as needed

Other Requirements

  • Desired skills include project management skills, baseline skills for utilizing technology and software, as well as excellent interpersonal skills for supporting internal and external customers
  • Attendance during business hours with minimal absences per the GreatAmerica attendance policy is expected
