The Construction Quality and Standards Internship will immerse the individual wide variety of tasks around quality control and standardization on the data center construction site. You will walk away with a greater understanding why and how best practices are set and followed from an employee, general contractor, and site specific perspective. Responsibilities can include but aren't limited to:

Construction Quality and Standards Intern:

  • Perform supplier audits

  • Track and aid in the corrective action needed on non-conformance issues.

  • Work with GCs ensuring their practices are up to QTS and state/local standards

  • Look for and uphold KAIZEN standards

  • Help as needed with work pertaining to us reaching our IS9000 certification

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or similar field.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Must be a US Citizen

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:

    • Auburn University

    • Kansas State University

    • Georgia State University

    • Southern Adventist University

    • Texas A&M University

    • University of Kansas

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in construction or industrial settings

  • Familiarity with Construction project management best practices

  • Exposure to quality control/ quality analysis standards, best practices, and tools

  • Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
