Job purpose

As part of the Chief Technology Officer organization, the Corporate Advanced Technology Development team is dedicated to developing anddemonstratingadvanced mobility technologies, focusing on new growth areas with longer time horizons. We develop system-oriented solutions that shape the future of mobility through collaborations with other functional areas and business units at BorgWarner.

We areseekinga highly motivatedSoftware DevelopmentInternto join our team.In this role, you will support the development and deployment offull stack web applicationand data analysisfor proof-of-concept projects that can inform the development of future BorgWarner products.

This is a hybrid role based at BorgWarner’s Propulsion TechnologyCenter(PTC) in Auburn Hills, MI thatprovidesan opportunity to work withcutting-edgetechnologies and play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable mobility. Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand challenges and requirements and provide data-driven solutions.

  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of full stack web applications using React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

  • Implement data engineering solutions andassistin building data pipelinesand backend systems to support scalable data analysis.

  • Utilize GitHub for version control, ensuring collaborative and organized code management.

  • Develop Python scripts to perform data analysis and extract actionable insights from collected datasets.

  • Deploy cloud-native applications via Azure Functions and Azure Web Apps.

  • Prepare comprehensive documentation and share findings within the organization.

  • This position requires Interns to be on-site 3 days a week.

Whatwe’relooking for

  • Currently pursuing aBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.Enrolmentin a graduate program (Master'sor Ph.D.) is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience developing web applications using JavaScript, React, and Node.js, with agoodunderstanding of front-end and back-end development principles.

  • Practical knowledge of Python and SQL for scripting, data manipulation, and analysis.

  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

  • Completed coursework or personal projects involving data science, machine learning, or statistical analysis.

  • Experience in the full software development lifecycle, including designing, testing,version controland deploying applications in real-world or academic settings.

  • Strong communicationskills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • A proactive learner who thrives in collaborative environments and adapts quickly tonew technologiesand methodologies.
