Anduril's Reliability Engineering organization is seeking an Intern to join our team. The Reliability Engineering team collaborates with our broader Engineering organization to ensure our products meet or exceed mission performance requirements, withstand challenging environmental conditions, and satisfy all customer specifications. As a Reliability Engineering Intern at Anduril, you will gain knowledge of advanced Reliability tools and methodologies to drive excellence into our products. You will support the Systems, Hardware, & Software Engineering teams across the product development lifecycle by participating in Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, predictive analysis, qualification test planning, field performance monitoring, and root cause & corrective action activities. The right person for this role enjoys hands-on work, loves to build processes, and can work efficiently across multi-disciplinary teams.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support review of system block diagrams, interface control documents, and schematics for compliance, redundancy, and accuracy against requirements.
- Proactively identify product risks and drive root cause analysis & corrective actions.
- Support Failure Modes & Effects Analysis activities and collaborate with other Engineering teams to implement product improvements for Reliability.
- Support predictive reliability analysis efforts to calculate failure rates and Mean Time Between Failure metrics, utilizing Anduril requirements, specifications, and MIL-HDBK-217 Plus.
- Support the development of Maintainability prediction models using MIL-HDBK-472.
- Develop R&D and Qualification Test plans to ensure appropriate requirements coverage.
- Work with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure inspection and acceptance test gates are in place and documented against requirements.
- Perform Weibull analysis utilizing data from Qualification campaigns and from fielded assets.
- Use data analysis techniques to highlight key problem areas for deployed products, propose corrective actions, and drive to closure.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Must be a rising senior at the time of their internship and returning to school at the end of their internship to continue their academic studies for at least one quarter/semester.
- Collegiate project team, machine shop, or laboratory experience.
- High competence with, and fluid use of, engineering first principles.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior internship experience and/or leadership on a collegiate project team or laboratory.
- Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
- Exposure to test plan development, test data acquisition, data analysis, and failure analysis techniques
- Exposure to reliability analysis techniques, such as FMEA/FMECA, predictive modeling, Weibull analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis
- Technical writing experience developing standards, specifications, user guides, and policies
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
