Overview
The extension of the working student position is required due to an unplanned long-term employee absence. Simone Grau has been on sick leave since May 19, 2026, and her medical leave is highly likely to be extended again. Even if she returns, she is expected to undergo a gradual reintegration process over several months.
In addition, the ongoing SAP implementation has increased the complexity of day-to-day operations and created a significant additional workload. To ensure the continuous production of laboratory reagents, the responsibilities of the absent employee have been reassigned to another production employee. This has created a staffing gap that needs to be covered by extending the working student position.
Furthermore, there is no other employee who is trained in reagent production and can take over these responsibilities during the requested extension period. Shichen Zhang has already been fully trained and is therefore the only suitable person to ensure the continuity of production operations.

• Production, packaging, and shipping of consumables • Production of buffers and reagents • Conducting QC on various measuring instruments • Documenting and evaluating QC results • Operating the pipetting robot • Receiving and inspecting goods
