This Position reports to:
Production ManagerWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support a strategic improvement project focused on material management within our manufacturing operations. This internship offers hands-on experience in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic industrial environment. This role is part of a lean challenge competition in between manufacturing sites.
The work model for the role is on site.
This role is contributing to the Reliagear/Electrification/Smart Power in Montreal.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Assist in analyzing current material flow from reception to production, testing, and packaging.
- Support the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance material handling efficiency.
- Participate in lean-based initiatives aimed at reducing waste and improving inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to identify bottlenecks and propose solutions.
- Help document current and improved processes, including visual standards and operating instructions.
- Contribute to layout optimization efforts to improve material accessibility and workflow.
- Conduct basic root cause analysis and assist in implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor key metrics such as material availability, cycle time, and inventory turnover.
- Ensure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards during project execution.
Qualifications for the role
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is an ass
- Possibility to travel.
